Rosley WI

We have 30 members. Coming from a rural community, Rosley WI is made up of friendly, fun-loving ladies. Our programme covers a wide range of topics and our speakers keep us entertained and well informed. We have our own in-house entertainment group, whose artistic skills include dialect poems, poems, monologues, singing and acting. This group performs when Carlisle Stroke Club come for tea and at our pre Christmas party. We also arrange afternoon tea for the Wiza Club from Wigton. We also support other WIs in the area by attending their meetings, when invited, and we invite other WIs to our open meetings and pre Christmas party. Through open nights, generous speakers and gift aid, we support local charities, namely the Northern Fells Group and the Link (a local newsletter). Last year we also supported Hospice at Home and Watchtree. We support Coins for Friendship and Taylor’s Yorkshire Tea projects. Rosley is a member of the Shawk Valley Group, which includes Caldbeck, Cumdivock, Raughton Head, Sebergham and Westward.
