This year’s resolution, ‘Mental health matters’, was passed with a resounding 98% vote in favour. The day was enjoyed immensely by delegates and Trustees, as you can see from the photo!

Some of the poppies knitted last year by WI members to mark the 100th anniversary of the Battle of The Somme made a reappearance on a tree outside the Museum of Military Life within Carlisle Castle on Remembrance Sunday….
Carlisle Archive Centre invited members to view records of their WIs. Fascinating old minute books, scrapbooks, photos and newspaper cuttings were some of the items exhibited. Staff also laid on a delicious cream tea!
The anniversary of the Battle of the Somme draws to an end. WI members have knitted and crocheted thousands of poppies to contribute to a living memorial at the Museum of Military Life. Between 1st July and 18th November, poppies halve been attached to rolls…
